Backline Rental in Urte Barri Oi 2025 at Kiñu Gaztetxea
This past Saturday I was with Kitarshokak providing the rental service for practically complete equipment except for guitar heads and drum cymbals. The concert was at Kiñu Gaztetxea in Igorre for a macro-concert of 7 bands called Urte Barri Oi in which Arene6, Streetwise, Perlata, Galazota, Neskatasuna, Azken Sustraiak and Estutu played.
Kiñu Gaztetxea is an impressive place, a very large room, serious PA equipment, no columns on the floor…and the concert was a complete success as you can see in the pictures. Access could be improved and with little attendance there is a lot of echo but even so a venue like this should be a reference for many performances and bands. A pleasure to have been able to collaborate with such a concert and organization.
For the Backline service, our Yamaha OAK Custom Japan 2003 drums were used, a bass amp made up of Hiwatt DR103 Vintage ’72 (don’t forget that it is the amplifier used by The Who, Pink Floyd… in their best years) + Boogie 4×10″ EV cabinet from the 90s and two Marshall JCM800 4×12″ cabinets with their magical Celestion cones of the time, two different models, one in each cabinet and then a Bugera TriRec amp head as a backup that a couple of groups used and that performs very well due to its versatility of changing sound by its pedalboard and ease of use. Streetwise’s guitar player was going to play on the clean channel with his RAT but I told him he’ll try the overdrive on the amp and he liked it better so he played with the Bugera. It was also played by the lead singer of Neskatasuna.
Thanks to the invaluable help of Igor and Iñaki and Asua from the organization.
