With gear and the moments, things arise without much planning, here and now, or what we could call letting ourselves be carried away by how we are at a certain moment and what the gear inspires us and we are capable of doing with our strengths and limitations. This is what is reflected in this short sample video of the set formed by Soldano Hot Rod 50 ’92 + Marshall JCM800 4×12 + Gibson ES335 ’88 + Evidence Lyric HG cable. Our Soldano has vintage preamp tubes selected by me through countless hours of comparison, trial, error and learning with them. Cabinet is a JCM800 with the speakers changed to later G12-75 ones in which it can see that the cab itself has big influence in sound. And the guitar, well, a very good guitar improved with NOS capacitors that has that something that…yes, yes…extra virgin olive oil, the perfect dressing. Like the cable, which also contributes (or rather does not eliminate) its own.
